WEKO staffs professionals who are experienced, educated, and have undergone intensive training in order to provide the highest quality care. WEKO partners with various community organizations for a strong network of support. There are many services offered to address most needs that individuals and/or families often face.
THERAPY
Licensed clinicians offer different and effective types of therapy for individuals, families, and couples. Therapy is structured and goal-oriented. Specialization is for families who need assistance recovering from physical, sexual, emotional abuse, and neglect. Other issues, including substance abuse relapse prevention, mental illness, personality/behavior disorder, developmental disability, dysfunctional family of origin, and current family dysfunction, can be addressed as well.
CASE MANAGEMENT
Thorough case managers assess needs and assist with removing barriers to living independent, successful, healthy lifestyles. Case managers educate on coping skills, budgeting, community resources, obtaining and maintaining housing, obtaining and maintaining employment, parenting skills, and other factors related to mental, emotional and educational well-being.
DOMESTIC VIOLENCE
Direct Workers and Counselors service survivors, children, and batterers. Services are provided as one component of a coordinated community response to domestic violence, and an include individual therapy, education, group sessions, safety planning, parenting education, advocacy, and more.
FATHER ENGAGEMENT
Dedicated specialists work to engage fathers in services that will reduce barriers to safety, stability, well-being and permanency for their children. Goals are focused on strengthening the relationship with their children and promoting positive relationships between the families, as well as achieving self-sufficiency. Individual sessions and group meetings are offered.
PARENT AID
Parent Aids offer expertise in creating and maintaining happy homes. Assistance and support to build self-sufficiency is provided for parents who are experiencing some difficulty with duties, through advocating, teaching, demonstrating, monitoring, and/or role modeling new, appropriate skills for coping with different life stressors.
Achieving Autonomy
Autonomy is the ability to make decisions on your own, after reflecting, without being coerced or influenced. It is the essence of "free will." Many people have difficulty with autonomy due to trauma, stress, lack of focus, low confidence, and other factors. WEKO Family Services will help you to work towards achieving full autonomy and breaking down whatever barriers you may have.
Getting Educated
There are many things to learn when it comes to building and maintaining healthy relationships with others. Often, life stressors and negative circumstances can cause people to behave in ways that they don't consider to be their best. WEKO will teach individualized coping skills, communication styles specific to your needs, andinformation about your situation as it relates to research and evidenced based practices.
Strengthening the Family
Families are known for ups and downs. There can be a history of trauma, abuse, neglect, personal differences, and other factors that can be barriers to healthy relationships. WEKO Family Services can work with the entire family, or an individual, and provide services tailored for improving the family bond. WEKO staff will listen to you and assess your needs, then assist with addressing those needs.
Nurturing Challenging Children
Some children have more difficulties and need more support than other children. This takes patience, understanding, and skills.
